Understanding Public Access
The Public Access Scheme means that you can instruct a specialist barrister yourself without having to go through a solicitor.
Solicitors often have substantial overheads for large premises, and a significant support network, and so their charging rates can be off-putting, particularly when you know that their charges don’t even include payment for the barrister who will draft your legal documents, advise you on your case, or represent you at your hearing.
By instructing a Barrister directly you go straight to the specialist without having to pay for someone to refer your case or explain your case to the Barrister.
